A formula is only as good as the bottle that reaches you. That’s why minimalRX is sold only through Skn Studio™ and certified Skn Studio™ Satellite Partners.
The counterfeit problem
Popular skincare is widely copied, and West African markets are no exception. A counterfeit may contain the wrong actives, no actives, or contamination.
The risk goes beyond wasted money. Unregulated skin-lightening products sold in the region have been found to contain mercury or strong prescription steroids. The WHO warns these can damage skin, kidneys and the nervous system.
Heat and light destroy real products too
Even genuine products can fail if stored badly. Actives such as vitamin C degrade with heat and light. A serum left in a hot container, a sunny market stall or a car can lose much of its activity before anyone opens it.
Authorised partners follow our storage and handling guidance, so the product you open is the product we made.
What authorised partners provide
- Genuine stock from our supply chain, with intact seals and traceable batches
- Proper storage, away from heat and direct sunlight
- Trained advice: partners complete product and brand training before they are certified
- A route back to us if something is wrong with a product
How to check before you buy
- Confirm the seller on our list of authorised partners, or ask Skn Studio to verify them.
- Check the safety seal. Don’t use a product if it is broken or missing.
- Check the batch number and expiry date on the pack.
- Be wary of prices far below retail, and of sellers who won’t say where their stock comes from.
- After opening, trust your senses. If a vitamin C serum has turned dark orange or brown, or any product smells or looks wrong, stop using it.
